About The Role

Join our team as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in designing the next generation of our innovative robot, Digit. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to ensure that our designs are robust, safe, and ready for production. Your responsibilities will include implementing PCB schematics, estimating work durations, selecting and qualifying components, creating engineering verification checklists, executing rapid prototyping, and participating in debugging efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of robotics.

  • Implementing Printed Circuit Board schematics and overseeing PCB layout to create engineering deliverables.
  • Identifying, selecting, and qualifying components; generating new parts & symbols, and creating engineering verification checklists.
  • Executing design and release checklists, presenting designs at cross-functional design reviews, and participating in debugging efforts.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more of:
  • Experience in embedded controls, high-speed differential signaling, microcontrollers, memory buses, digital design, and power electronics (switching power supplies)
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 7 or more years of electrical design experience
  • Candidates should thrive in a highly dynamic environment with rapidly evolving requirements, tight schedules, and enjoy building collaborative relationships on a daily basis
  • Cable harness design (esp. Altium Harness experience)
  • DC-DC conversion (switching power supplies, standard and LDO linear regulators)
  • Experience managing inside and outside PCB layout designers, including written layout briefs
  • Flex circuit design
  • RF SOM and antenna design
  • Sensor fusion (Lidar, radar, cameras, etc.)
  • Analog design, especially sensing and instrumentation (sensors, op-amps & A/Ds)
  • Deep experience with Altium for component generation and schematic entry
  • High-capacity Li batteries and BMS implementations
  • Multidisciplinary debugging techniques operable in the engineering lab or factory floor
  • 3D visualization capabilities to imagine and optimize space constrained circuitry in challenging mechanical and thermal environments
  • An advanced degree with robotics experience
  • Motors and motor control, particularly BLDC motors
  • Adjacent engineering disciplines (PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, test)
  • Project management experience (especially using Jira)
  • Altium super-user for schematics or layout
  • A strong understanding of structured product development (including requirements-driven engineering, comprehensive documentation, and rigorous verification)
