Senior Software Engineer (Build Infrastructure)

Join Zoox, a company on a mission to revolutionize transportation with a purpose-built robotaxi. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving our Bazel-based build system, optimizing build speeds, and empowering developers through advanced tooling. You will have the opportunity to directly impact engineering velocity and contribute to the development of safety-critical autonomous vehicle software.

• Ownership and evolution of the Bazel build ecosystem, ensuring it meets the needs of engineers.
• Acceleration of engineering velocity by minimizing Bazel overhead and streamlining incremental builds.
• Development of custom Bazel rules and tooling to abstract complexity for product teams.
• Minimum of 4 years of expertise with Bazel (or similar systems like Buck or Pants)
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, or related field and 8+ years of experience
• Comfortable writing Python to integrate tools and automate as much as possible
• Familiarity with maintaining large polyglot code bases
• Linux experience
• C++ experience
• Experience contributing to open source bazel
