Staff Software Engineer (Operational Applications & Platforms)

Join Zoox, a leading company in autonomous mobility. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will architect and build critical systems for our autonomous ride-sharing service. You will drive technical direction, shape system architecture, and influence cross-functional strategy. • Architect and own mission-critical systems, leading the design and development of full-stack platforms that power real-time vehicle monitoring and operational tooling.
• Set technical direction across the stack, acting as a technical leader spanning frontend, backend, and infrastructure, driving architecture decisions that ensure scalability and reliability.
• Drive cross-functional innovation by partnering closely with product, design, and operations to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver solutions to complex challenges.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Svelte, with an eye toward building intuitive, high-quality user interfaces
• Proven ability to design and architect large-scale, full-stack systems, paired with strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively drive alignment and execution across cross-functional teams
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, including experience building applications with Node.js, HTML, and CSS
• Deep understanding of modern web technologies and architecture, including performance, scalability, and maintainability considerations

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), with 12+ years of professional software engineering experience
