Senior/Staff Systems Engineer (Platform Verification and Validation)

As a Senior/Staff Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and fail-operational capabilities of our robotaxi service. You will collaborate with various engineering teams, design and direct system-level verification and validation campaigns, and apply your expertise to the compute-platform safety case. • Collaborate closely with system safety, perception, firmware, vehicle controls, and planning engineering teams to understand and review vehicle response strategies for compute platform fault conditions.
• Design and direct system-level verification and validation campaigns, establish novel testing methodologies and metrics to ensure the robotaxi meets end-to-end safety and fail-operational requirements.
• Lead data collection and analysis campaigns, defining and validating system performance metrics, driving automation initiatives for analysis and process optimization.

• Demonstrated experience in any of the following: verification and validation, functional safety and diagnostics, system and component testing, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and vehicle testing
• BS or higher degree in a relevant technical field, such as Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering
• 8+ years of professional experience
• Basic proficiency with probability and statistics
• Proficient in Python for data analysis
• Fault Protection: Fault protection system design and validation
• Functional Safety Standards: Familiarity with ISO 26262, ARP 4754, ARP 4761, or IEC 51511
