About The Role

Join The Wall Street Journal as a Principal Product Manager for Subscriber Acquisition & Retention. In this role, you will own the product responsible for engaging new customers, building habits to keep them engaged, and providing compelling reasons to stay subscribed. You will lead a team of product managers and work closely with marketing, engineering, design, and subscription strategy.   • Own the product responsible for showing new customers the value of their subscription, building the habits that keep them engaged, and giving them compelling reasons to stay subscribed.
  • Lead a team of product managers and work closely with marketing, engineering, design, and subscription strategy to set direction, run experiments, and ship work that directly protects and grows recurring revenue.
  • Run a rigorous experimentation program, using A/B testing and funnel analysis to drive measurable outcomes across activation, engagement, save, and winback experiences.
  • Deep expertise in experimentation and data-driven decision making
  • Ability to engage in detailed discussions with engineering, understand subscription and messaging system architecture, and make product decisions informed by technical feasibility
  • A track record of managing and developing product managers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • A track record of influencing VP-level and above stakeholders and communicating product strategy, trade-offs, and business impact to executive audiences
  • Knowledge of digital media and subscription businesses
  • A strong understanding of subscriber lifecycle metrics
  • At least 8 years’ of product management experience with a focus on subscriber retention, engagement, subscription, or direct-to-consumer products
  • Proven ability to use AI tools to improve the quality and velocity of your work, while coaching the people around you to do the same
  • Experience with native mobile app product and platforms such as Braze or Piano (a plus)
