Associate General Counsel

About The Role
Join EnergyHub, a leading company in the climate tech sector, as an Associate General Counsel. In this role, you will work closely with business leaders and technical teams to provide legal advice on a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, privacy, IP, compliance, M&A, and regulatory issues. You will also have the opportunity to work with leading companies in the demand response, renewable energy, and utility sectors. - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements for EnergyHub, including software, technology, services, vendor, reseller, manufacturer, licensing, marketing and other commercial contracts.
- Advise and provide guidance on a broad scope of legal issues relating to commercial terms, compliance, privacy, security, and regulatory matters.
- Develop and drive compliance policies and procedures designed to enhance regulatory and business standards compliance and support the company’s business and strategic objectives.

- Highly skilled in standard office software and ability to adapt quickly to new technologies
- Superior interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
- J.D. from a leading law school
- Team player with a high level of professionalism and commitment to developing strong relationships with colleagues, internal clients, and business teams across the enterprise
- Experience with, and enthusiasm for, process improvement, and problem solving
- Proven organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to <Alarm.com>’s HQ in the Washington, DC area on an occasional basis
- Significant experience negotiating, drafting and reviewing broad range of commercial contracts and familiarity with a wide range of legal matters including corporate, commercial, privacy, IP, regulatory, and compliance issues; demonstrated ability/interest in becoming a corporate generalist
- 5+ years relevant experience in an in-house or large law firm environment, with software, technology industry experience. Familiarity with one or more of the following areas a plus: commercial contracts, public utilities, IP, data and privacy or other regulatory frameworks
- Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to change within a growing company
- Membership in or eligibility for admission to the New York Bar
