About The Role

Join Relay Therapeutics as the Director of Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). In this strategic role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across Research, Clinical Development, and General & Administrative functions. You will lead complex organizational initiatives, coach leaders through growth and change, and drive scalable talent and organizational effectiveness solutions. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including significant HR Business Partner experience, and a strong background in organizational design, talent management, and change management.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to leaders across Research, Clinical Development, and General & Administrative functions, partnering to build organizational capability and strengthen leadership effectiveness.
  • Independently lead complex organizational initiatives, coach leaders through growth and change, and drive scalable talent and organizational effectiveness solutions that support business priorities.
  • Translate business strategy into people strategies that strengthen organizational effectiveness, talent capabilities, and team performance.
  • This role is ideal for an experienced HRBP who thrives in a dynamic, science-driven environment and can seamlessly navigate between senior-level partnership, strategic problem-solving, and hands-on execution
  • Excellent executive presence with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant HR Business Partner experience
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in an evolving environment
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide HR initiatives and drive measurable improvements
  • Experience supporting fast-paced, high-growth organizations; biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other science-driven environments preferred
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and influencing organizational decisions
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people strategies to business outcomes
  • Strong expertise in organizational design, talent management, workforce planning, leadership coaching, performance management, and change management
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR certification preferred
