About The Role

Join Hopper, a leading travel technology company, as an Assistant Controller. In this critical builder role, you will partner with the Global Corporate Controller to automate the close, build data infrastructure, and design the reporting framework. You will lead the external audit, own technical accounting, and oversee the month-end close. Lead the external audit, own technical accounting, and provide oversight of the month-end close while operating with a high degree of independence.
Design and implement the internal controls framework and drive SOX readiness, overseeing the quality and GAAP compliance of the month-end close.
Map data flows from the warehouse into NetSuite, identify gaps, and collaborate with Engineering to automate the close, building and automating the reconciliation framework.
Public company experience — you've operated at scale and understand what a mature finance function looks like
Hands-on technical accounting memo drafting experience across complex topics
NetSuite experience (configuration, data architecture, or close automation) is a strong plus
A track record of leading audits as the primary liaison, not just as a preparer
Travel, fintech, or marketplace industry background is a plus
SQL or data querying skills — or a demonstrated willingness to learn so you can independently investigate data issues without relying on engineering
An automation-first mindset with genuine AI fluency
SOX and internal controls design experience
Pre-IPO or IPO readiness experience is a plus
Systems and automation ownership — you've built processes, not just maintained them
Active CPA designation
10+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated readiness to operate at a director level
