About The Role

Join Thomson Reuters - Noetica as a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack). In this role, you will focus on backend systems and APIs that power our search-centric web experience. You will collaborate with a talented team of AI/ML PhDs, legal SMEs, and market strategists to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of Noetica's core infrastructure.

  • Conception, design, and implementation of scalable backend services and APIs for a document analysis platform.
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the integration of AI/ML capabilities and legal expertise into the backend systems.
  • Ownership of engineering excellence, including code practices, design patterns, and CI/CD improvements.
  • Self-starting problem-solving approach biased towards action and scope minimization
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React for frontend work
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, database design, and data modeling
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • 4+ years of professional full-stack development experience with a strong focus on backend systems
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Foundation in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and web fundamentals
  • Proficiency in backend technologies (Node.js, Python, or Go) and API design
  • Experience with microservices architecture and message queues
  • Understanding of CI/CD fundamentals and experience working in single-tenant architectures
  • Experience building data processing pipelines or working with large-scale data systems
  • Experience optimizing backend performance for data-intensive applications
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design and functional programming principles
  • Interest in language and economics
  • Thrive in a high-leverage, fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with technologies like monorepo, jujutsu, mise, pprof, etc
