Forward Deployed Engineer

Join Shield AI as a Forward Deployed Engineer, where you will provide technical expertise and support to customers during the implementation and use of our enterprise software products. You will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and ensure successful product integration for AI & Autonomy development. This role involves developing AI & Autonomy applications, deploying Hivemind AI infrastructure, providing technical training, assisting with software/API integration issues, and collaborating with product and engineering teams. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as autonomous teaming drones, autonomy on Robodogs, and AI on Fighter Jets.

• Provide technical expertise and support to customers during the implementation and use of Shield AI enterprise software products.
• Develop AI & Autonomy applications using Hivemind for unmanned platforms across air/sea/land/space, and deploy Hivemind AI infrastructure at customer sites.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to address customer feedback and improve products, and assist the sales team in answering complex technical queries from customers.
• Experience in the defense aviation or robotics industry
• Intermediate proficiency in writing Python code
• Strong technical background in software engineering
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in writing modern C++ code
• 7+ years of experience of industry experience
• 3+ years of experience working in a startup environment
• 3+ years of experience in an integration/applications engineering role
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience building and running a small enterprise software applications/solutions engineering team
