Backend Software Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)

Join Astranis as a Backend Software Engineer Intern for Fall 2026. As part of the Platform team, you will design and build services that control satellites, monitor telemetry, and provide real-time situational awareness. You will also contribute to the core components and services that power the rest of the software organization. This internship is a twelve-week, hourly role for students currently enrolled in a four-year university. • Design and build high-performance, reliable, mission-critical software that is used to send commands to space.
• Take full ownership of features, working across backend and infrastructure, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Shape the foundation of software that has to work flawlessly, contributing to both commercial and US government programs.
• Experience and understanding of databases (Postgres, etc)
• Experience and understanding of pub/sub and streaming systems (RabbitMQ, Flink, etc)

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent degree
• Experience with Kubernetes
