System Administrator (Workplace IT)
LiveEO · Berlin, Germany
About The Role
Join LiveEO, a fast-growing satellite intelligence company, as a System Administrator. In this hands-on role, you'll support our Workplace IT team in managing device management, identity & access, SaaS operations, and IT security compliance. You'll work in a mixed-OS environment, predominantly Mac with a strong Linux presence and a handful of Windows users. Your responsibilities will include administering our identity provider and mobile device management platform, supporting day-to-day operations across our productivity suite, managing team collaboration tools, maintaining our IT asset management system, and providing admin support for the engineering team's issue tracker. You'll also support cloud infrastructure operations, administer and troubleshoot our network hardware, evaluate and manage AI coding and productivity tools, contribute to security hardening efforts, support ongoing compliance work, and help maintain IT documentation.
- Administer and maintain the identity provider and mobile device management platform, including user lifecycle, group-based policies, conditional access, and MFA enforcement.
- Support day-to-day operations across the productivity suite (email, calendar, shared drives, admin console policies) and manage team collaboration tools and integrations.
- Contribute to security hardening efforts: patch management, endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, and access reviews, and support ongoing SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance work.
- This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable owning problems end-to-end from a laptop enrollment issue to a network outage to an access review ahead of an audit
- Fluent English; German is a big plus but not required
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, or willingness to learn and own related processes
- Comfortable working across macOS, Linux, and Windows in a single environment
- Solid experience with a cloud-based identity provider and MDM solution (SSO, SCIM, device policies, zero-touch enrolment)
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work independently on ambiguous problems
- Working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud provider
- Practical understanding of IT security concepts: endpoint protection, patching, access control, least privilege
- Experience administering a major productivity/email suite (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) at an admin level
- Interest in or experience with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor) from an admin/governance perspective not coding expertise, but comfort evaluating and rolling out new tools
- 3-5 years of experience in a system administration, IT infrastructure, or workplace IT role
- Experience with IT asset management tooling and structured inventory practices
- Experience with networking fundamentals and hands-on management of business-grade network hardware (routers, switches, wireless controllers, VPN)
- Experience administering an ITSM/ticketing and wiki platform (e.g. Jira Service Management and Confluence, or equivalent), workflow setup, permissions, and documentation structure
- Comfortable administering an engineering-facing issue tracker (e.g. Linear or Jira) — user access, project setup, integrations
- Clear written communication, you'll be documenting processes and writing for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment
- Exposure to compliance audits (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 certification cycles)
- Scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation of routine admin tasks
