Principal Cloud Engineer (Service Ownership)

Join Salesforce as a Principal Cloud Engineer, where you will lead technical initiatives within the Consumer Goods Cloud organization. You will architect and implement complex, enterprise-scale platform solutions, mentor teams, and influence technical strategy. Your responsibilities will include defining the technical vision for critical infrastructure components, leading cross-functional initiatives, and driving innovation in cloud-native technologies. You will also manage post-implementation reviews, partner with Product and Security teams, and drive platform reliability initiatives.

• Architect and drive the implementation of complex, enterprise-scale platform solutions while mentoring teams and influencing technical strategy.
• Define the technical vision for critical infrastructure components and lead cross-functional initiatives that directly impact software delivery.
• Lead incident response for critical platform issues, drive comprehensive post-incident improvement programs, and establish engineering excellence standards.
• Deep expertise in containerization platforms (Kubernetes, service mesh, advanced orchestration patterns)
• Expert-level mastery of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) including advanced services and enterprise features
• Advanced networking and security expertise including zero-trust architectures and compliance frameworks
• 8+ years of senior-level experience in DevOps and/or extreme accountable service ownership duties, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering at enterprise scale
• Expert-level programming skills in at least one language such as Python, NodeJS, or Java
• Proven leadership experience including technical mentoring, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration
• Proven track record of architecting and implementing large-scale, distributed systems serving thousands of users
• Comprehensive experience with Infrastructure as Code at scale (Terraform Enterprise, custom tooling)
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and platform scalability patterns
• Expert knowledge of CI/CD platform architecture (Jenkins Enterprise, GitHub Actions, custom pipeline orchestration)
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
