About The Role
Join Salesforce as a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) in the Experience Library team, part of the Digital Marketing Technology organization. In this role, you will design and build high-quality, scalable frontend components, collaborate closely with Product and UX, and help elevate the engineering practices of the team. You will take strong ownership of your features, contribute to architectural decisions, and serve as a mentor and technical coach for more junior engineers.
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality, production-grade frontend and full-stack features for the Page Builder platform, leveraging modern web technologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for one or more domains within the Page Builder platform; including the blade components library, CMS integration, or rendering pipelines.
- Mentor AMTS and MTS team members through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing, and help elevate the engineering practices of the team.
- A related technical degree required
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on frontend and full-stack web development
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, with hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React preferred; Vue, Angular, or Ember also considered)
- Experience building with accessibility standards (WCAG) in mind
- Experience consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, with a solid understanding of API design and security best practices
- Solid experience with HTML5, CSS3, and CSS frameworks such as Sass or Tailwind
- Experience mentoring engineers, providing technical coaching and constructive code review feedback
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience as an active sprint contributor and planning partner
- Experience working with Content Management Systems, particularly WordPress and/or Contentful, and understanding of how CMS-driven content flows into frontend rendering pipelines
- Experience with Node.js and building backend services that support frontend experiences (BFF pattern a plus)
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver features of medium-to-high complexity, from design through production
- Proven experience building scalable, performant web applications on public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure also considered)
- Strong understanding of web performance fundamentals such as Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, caching strategies, and CDN behavior
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document features and present designs to peers and stakeholders
- Experience with frontend testing methodologies and frameworks (Jest, Cucumber, Selenium, or equivalent)
- A demonstrated, AI-first approach to engineering actively using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex etc.) to move faster and help the team do the same
- Experience with internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n); building experiences that scale across multiple languages and regions
- Experience working within or contributing to a design system or component library
- Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Vite, npm, or Yarn
- Experience with CDN configuration (e.g., Akamai) and understanding of how CDNs impact web performance
- Familiarity with WordPress as a CMS platform, including theme development or Page/REST API consumption
- Experience with analytics instrumentation and tag management (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe, Tealium)
