About The Role
Join Salesforce as a Software Engineering Architect in the Cloud Economics & Capacity Management (CECM) team. You will design and implement architectural solutions for the CECM platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, and security. You will lead the architectural design of complex distributed systems, establish technical standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers and data scientists, evaluate new technologies, and define key technical metrics for platform health and performance. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about building scalable, resilient, distributed systems that analyze massive volumes of cloud cost and usage data.

- Experience building products used by 1000+ internal users
- A related technical degree is required
- 15+ years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record of designing, building, and delivering large-scale, high-performance distributed systems
- Love getting things done (e.g. hands-on prototyping a new approach)
- Extensive experience working in the public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Extensive cloud infrastructure architecting & development experience (FinOps, cost optimization, capacity planning, or data platforms)
- Deep expertise in big data platforms (Trino/Presto, Iceberg, Airflow, Spark)
- Knowledge of AI/ML systems, LLM optimization, or agentic workflows
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical discussions, actively fostering their technical development and understanding of complex architectures
- Ability to make data-driven architectural decisions and effectively balance technical debt with new feature development
- Experience with building engineering roadmaps and setting long-term design strategies that span multiple development lifecycles
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, with the ability to independently craft and deliver strategic technical reports and presentations to executive leadership
