About The Role

Join Salesforce as a Software Engineering SMTS/LMTS, where you will be part of a team responsible for architecting, developing, and testing the next generation of RDBMS. You will design and develop robust and highly scalable software products to support the growth of Salesforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database internals and distributed systems, exceptional software engineering skills, and a proven track record of success in large mission-critical systems.

Lead a team to design and develop core database system functionalities, including architecture and design to solve complex scalability problems.
Implement comprehensive functional and system-test for your area of responsibility and for overall database quality, and actively participate in the release and deployment process.
Debug, conduct root cause analysis, diagnose defects, and come up with innovative ideas to improve robustness and performance.
Are you a database expert, or passionate about building database technologies that supports relentless growth and innovation?
* 4+ years for SMTS/6+ YOE for LMTS technical leadership in architecture and design of enterprise server platform or systems
* 4+ years for SMTS/6+ YOE for LMTS industry experience in system or database internals programming
* Deep expertise with distributed systems and consensus algorithms
* Strong Java or C programming skills
* Innovator with good ideas, strong problem solving and communication skills, and a results oriented attitude
BS or higher degree in Computer Science
* Experience with highly concurrent multi-threaded/multi-process data structures and design
* Ability to learn quickly and deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment
PostgreSQL software development experience and community involvement as a contributor would be a huge plus
* Experience building a high-performance large-scale database platform
