About The Role

Join Mondelēz International as the Director & Senior Counsel for Sustainability and Governance. In this role, you will support sustainability legal matters and aspects of the company's global corporate governance operations. You will advise on sustainability-related claims, third-party partnerships, and sustainability investments, as well as provide legal counsel on sustainability-related goals, initiatives, programs, and policies. You will also assess and advise on sustainability-related regulatory developments and help enable the enterprise to advance its sustainability strategy. Additionally, you will assist with board and committee-related matters, manage meeting logistics, and provide support on other matters as assigned.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of sustainability-related goals, initiatives, programs, and policies.
  • Providing legal counsel on sustainability-related claims, third-party partnerships, and sustainability investments.
  • Advising on sustainability-related regulatory developments, including sustainability-related reporting and disclosures, in jurisdictions both inside and outside the United States.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for admission upon hire
  • Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
  • Prior major law firm experience or relevant in-house legal experience is preferred
  • Resourcefulness, including relevant new technologies and systems
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with ability to quickly assess and advise on risk
  • Highest level of integrity and trust
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all organizational levels, including senior management
  • Board advisory experience, combined with a strong grasp of corporate governance
  • 5 years + practicing in ESG and/or U.S. Corporate Governance law
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and technological skills to maintain complex records and systems
