About The Role
Join Xceptor, a leading provider of intelligent automation solutions, as the Director of Product for our AI-first tax automation product. In this role, you will lead the strategy, development, and commercial success of our U.S. tax capabilities. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, engage with customers and stakeholders, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid position based in New York.
- Lead the strategy, development, and commercial success of the AI-first tax automation product, including understanding client needs and regulatory dynamics.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for tax solutions, including product strategy, roadmap, and execution, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Build, coach, and lead a team of product managers, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring strategic coherence across initiatives.
- We’re looking for an experienced product leader who combines strong product management expertise with a deep understanding of complex, regulated domains
- Proven track record building B2B SaaS solutions with material client and business impact
- 8-12+ years of progressive product experience with 3+ years leading and developing other PMs
- Proven experience owning a product area or domain, with accountability for roadmap definition and delivery
- Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain strong PMs; track record of stretching senior ICs and helping them grow
- Ability to work effectively with domain experts (e.g. Tax SMEs) to translate complex requirements into product solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguous or evolving environments
- Hands-on experience shipping AI-native product experiences (LLM-powered, agentic, conversational, or workflow automation)
- Strong intuition around what great looks like in next generation products and AI experiences
- Experience working with go-to-market, sales, and customer teams to support product adoption and growth
- Understanding of commercial drivers impacting product success
- Experience driving alignment across engineering, design, and domain stakeholders
- Ability to incorporate customer insight and market feedback into roadmap decisions
- Ability to engage in discussions around system design, data models, APIs, AI/ML systems and platform considerations
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders (e.g. Senior Directors, Engineering leaders to align on strategy, secure investment and unblock execution
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
