Head of Technical Accounting

Join our team as the Head of Technical Accounting, where you will play a crucial role in shaping our accounting initiatives and building our external financial reporting capability. You will work closely with leadership across various departments and have end-to-end ownership over key strategic projects. This is a high-trust role that requires a driven and talented accounting lead with deep expertise in ASC 606 and broad technical accounting knowledge.

• Own end-to-end revenue accounting policies under ASC 606 (or IFRS 15), including review of complex contracts, multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, and non-standard deal terms.
• Lead preparation of external financial statements and footnote disclosures (10-K/10-Q if public, or audited financials if private) and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SEC reporting requirements (if applicable).
• Build, manage, and develop a team of revenue and technical accounting professionals, and strengthen internal controls (SOX, if applicable) related to revenue and financial reporting.
• Experience with SEC reporting and public company requirements strongly preferred
• Deep expertise in ASC 606 and broad technical accounting knowledge across multiple areas of GAAP
• Prior people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-accounting stakeholders
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant time in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or a corporate technical accounting/revenue role
• Experience building the technical accounting and financial reporting function from 0 to 1 at a high-growth, venture-backed company
• Experience in inventory accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, and hardware revenue recognition, including warranty reserves, NRE, and complex customer contracts
