Senior Backend Developer (Campaigns Team)

Join our fast-growing Campaigns team as a Senior Backend Developer. In this hands-on role, you will design and implement core systems for campaign creation, configuration, and scheduling across multiple channels. You will also own campaign authoring and content assembly, ensure reliable handoff to delivery, enable audience targeting and personalization, and drive operational excellence. You will report to the Engineering Manager and have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices.

• Design and implement core systems for creating, configuring, and scheduling campaigns across multiple channels.
• Build systems that turn authored creatives, templates, and targeting rules into finalized, ready-to-send campaigns.
• Take ownership of complex backend features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• A willingness and eagerness to continuously learn, adapt to evolving technologies, and strive for personal and professional improvement
• Strong foundation in modern backend development (e.g. Python, Ruby, etc. - we mostly use Python alongside other languages and frameworks)
• Familiar with Software Development Lifecycle practices, such as continuous integration/continuous delivery and automated deployment (we use tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Experience with a cloud provider e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP (we use Google Cloud Platform)
• Exemplary software engineering skills (design, unit testing, git, code review, CI/CD)
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to efficiently identify, analyze, and resolve complex issues, and communicate to others on the team how to contribute to the solutions for these issues
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with others, communicate effectively, advocate appropriately and mentor more junior engineers to improve team efficiency
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• An understanding of common web based API architectures (RESTful, GraphQL) and technologies (gRPC)
• Experience with modern distributed and microservice technologies (we use Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Strong experience with relational databases, schema design, and query optimization (we use PostgreSQL)
• Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems at scale that are fault tolerant and highly concurrent
