Head of Communications

Join Paxos, a leading fintech company, as the Head of Communications. In this role, you will build and lead the company's communications strategy across various areas, including executive, corporate, policy, internal, and product communications. You will be responsible for managing media and press relations, internal and executive communications, and serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in communications, with a strong background in tech, fintech, or financial services, and a proven track record of managing press and media relations.

• Experience at fintech companies or banks, ideally with the last several years at a crypto-native or crypto-forward company (e.g., built brand and mindshare in crypto/fintech)
• Strong, existing relationships or demonstrable ability to build relationships with relevant finance/crypto reporters and outlets; ability to operate across US and international markets
• Proven ability to manage press and media relations and to define and execute plans that re-establish a company’s brand in key media and industry forums
• 12+ years in communications with experience in senior leadership roles, including meaningful time in tech, fintech, or financial services; experience in crypto and blockchain preferred but not required
• Track record of partnering closely with C-level leaders as a trusted extension of their voice
• Deep experience across multiple comms sub-functions (executive, corporate, policy/regulatory, internal, product), with clear depth in at least one and comfort overseeing all
• Confident, extroverted, humble personality with strong discussion and recommendation skills
• Direct experience in crypto-native companies (e.g., Coinbase, Circle) where you helped build a strong brand and media footprint
• Prior work closely tied to regulatory or policy communications, especially in Washington DC or other major regulatory hubs
• Experience building or significantly scaling a comms function, including hiring and managing internal teams and agencies
• Background in payments, fintech, or TradFi with strong connectivity into finance reporters and publications that cover both finance and crypto beats
