Software Engineer (Connect)

Iru · Miami, United States

About The Role

Join our Connect team as a Software Engineer, where you will help build an integrations platform from scratch. You will primarily focus on backend development, implementing connectors as declarative specs, building services that communicate with third-party APIs, and working on platform infrastructure. You will also have the opportunity to work on the React and TypeScript frontend. This role is ideal for engineers looking to grow their backend skills and who are comfortable working across the stack.

  • Implement connectors as declarative specifications and build backend services that execute them, handling the realities of third-party APIs.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including design discussions, code reviews, and technical decisions, while taking ownership of well-scoped projects.
  • Collaborate closely with a small team, engaging in code reviews and design discussions, and helping to maintain high engineering quality.
  • Required to work on-site 3x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables)
  • Backend engineering experience in Python, with the ability to read and contribute to a FastAPI codebase. You do not need to be a Python expert, but you should not be starting from scratch
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building backend systems
  • Solid SQL fundamentals: writing queries, designing schemas, and reasoning about how data flows through a system
  • Familiarity with integrating external APIs: making HTTP calls, handling authentication, parsing responses, and dealing with errors gracefully
  • Exposure to asynchronous patterns such as task queues or background workers (production experience is a plus, not a requirement)
  • Full-stack capability: you have shipped production UI in React with TypeScript and can own a feature end to end, including its interface
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Willingness to work through ambiguity and ask for help when you need it
  • Hands-on FastAPI experience
  • Experience building or consuming OAuth flows
  • Familiarity with integration platforms, workflow automation, or iPaaS products (examples: Paragon, Tines, n8n, Workato, Zapier)
  • Experience with observability practices: structured logging, tracing, or monitoring
  • Enjoyment of "builder mode" environments: small teams, high ownership, and shipping quickly
