Engineering Manager (Billing & Accounts)

Join Manychat as an Engineering Manager for Billing & Accounts. You will lead a team of 5-6 billing engineers and own the billing and accounts domain end to end. Your role will involve delivering the billing roadmap, guiding architectural decisions, and building transparency and healthy engineering practices within the team. You will work closely with the Product Director for Billing and Finance on tax and compliance initiatives. • Own the billing and accounts domain end to end, including processing, billing, and pricing for a platform serving creators in 170+ countries.
• Lead and grow a team of 5-6 billing engineers, delivering the billing roadmap and completing a major migration of the pricing model.
• Bring proven payments industry patterns and standards into Manychat, guiding architectural decisions and partnering closely with product and finance stakeholders.
• That experience gained at a SaaS or self-serve product company of comparable scale, where customers sign up and pay without a sales rep holding their hand
• A solid engineering background: you no longer write production code day to day, but you speak the language fluently, review architecture with credibility, and spot a bad design before it ships
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment while pulling it towards more structure, stability, and maturity, not less
• The ability to build relationships fast, with your team, with product and finance stakeholders, and with peers across engineering
• Hands-on experience building and running billing, payments, or processing systems: subscriptions, pricing models, payment providers, invoicing, the whole territory
• Real people management mileage: you’ve hired, you’ve coached, you’ve handled underperformance, and you’ve made the difficult call to part ways with someone and done it with respect
• Experience with tax, compliance, or revenue recognition topics in a SaaS context
• Experience restructuring or scaling a team: splitting into sub-teams, defining ownership, growing leads
• Been through a major platform or pricing migration and lived to tell the tale
• We’re tech-stack agnostic for this role. Our billing runs on PHP today, but whether your background is PHP, Python, Kotlin, or anything else, what matters is your domain knowledge and technical judgment
