Senior Platform Engineer

Join Burq as a Senior Platform Engineer, the founding member of our Platform team. You will own our engineering foundations, including infrastructure, security, CI/CD, and reliability. Your responsibilities will include executing a significant infrastructure roadmap, managing and evolving our AWS services, and improving our CI/CD pipelines. This is a high-leverage, high-ownership role that will shape the platform Burq scales on for the next several years.

• Design and build the platform that Burq scales on for the next several years, including executing on a significant infrastructure roadmap.
• Own and execute the AWS account split, lead the Aurora DB production migration, and manage and evolve our ECS Fargate services, RDS clusters, ElastiCache, SQS queues, and ALB configuration.
• Own Terraform for infrastructure as code, harden IAM, audit and lock down public S3 buckets, and enable AWS Config and Security Hub across all accounts.
• Terraform proficiency — you write infrastructure as code and know why it matters
• Deep AWS expertise — ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, account architecture
• Security-minded — you know how to harden systems without creating friction for product engineers
• 5+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years focused on infrastructure and platform engineering
• Experience with observability tooling — CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalen
• Strong CI/CD background — GitHub Actions, deployment pipelines, environment management
