• Manage a team of Data Scientists supporting SoFi’s Checking and Savings, Invest, Credit Card, Protect, and Lantern businesses.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize Data Science initiatives, set high standards for quality and on-time delivery.
• Recruit, grow, and retain top talent, ensure that the team is operating in an agile and efficient manner, and stay up-to-date on the latest AI/ML technologies.
• Effective communication and presentation skills and ability to explain complex analyses in simple terms to business leaders
• 7+ years of Data Science or Software Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
• 3+ years management experience
• Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, with a strong attention to detail
• Experience leveraging data-driven analysis to influence key decisions, preferably in a Tech or Finance company
• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python
• Knowledge of varied ML algorithms, applicability to different business problems, and experience in deploying ML models at scale in production with monitoring metrics
• Strong relationship building and collaborative skills
• Experience with using Airflow and DBT to build Data Pipelines in Snowflake
• Exceptional problem-solving
• Experience with building data visualizations with Tableau, Looker or other BI tools
