About The Role

Join Divergent, a leading company in the aerospace and defense industry, as a Communications Manager. In this hands-on role, you will execute and support the company's communications initiatives, ensuring consistent and timely messaging across all channels. You will work closely with the Communications & Marketing Director and cross-functional teams to develop and implement the company's brand narrative, manage media relations, create high-quality content, support executive communications, and track performance metrics. A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, is required.

  • Support the development and execution of the company’s brand narrative by implementing messaging frameworks across various communication channels.
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, and briefing materials, and coordinate media outreach to manage press inquiries and support relationships with journalists.
  • Create, edit, and manage a steady pipeline of high-quality content including press releases, blog posts, case studies, white papers, executive presentations, and social media content.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated experience producing press releases and long-form content
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to support industry events and occasional travel as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications, PR, or content development, preferably in high-tech, manufacturing, aerospace, or defense-related industries
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible messaging
  • Direct experience in aerospace and defense sectors, with understanding of defense contractors and regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with industry media outlets, analysts, and trade publications
  • Experience supporting communications during periods of growth, transformation, or fundraising
  • Experience coordinating with external agencies, freelancers, or vendors
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
