Software Engineer (Core Networking)

Join Neo4j, a leading graph database company, as a Software Engineer in the Core Networking Engineering Team. You will work primarily on the Neo4j network server modules, with opportunities to contribute to drivers, APIs, and our proprietary binary protocol. Your deep understanding of network concepts and binary protocols will influence the strategic direction for connectivity with Neo4j. You will lead the design of new features and improvements to the protocol, implement these designs in the server codebase, and have opportunities for community engagement and professional development.

• We're looking for 5+ years of practical experience in:
• Java Web Development Specifications (JAX-RS)
• You will ideally have experience and/or an interest in:
• Database management systems
• Customer experience and developer community interaction
• Netty
• System-oriented languages such as: C, C++, Rust or Go
• You may have also worked with some of:
• Java language, platform and ecosystem
• Network packet analysis (e.g., Wireshark)
• API design
• Graph Databases
• Concurrency and asynchronous programming
• Network development (binary protocol specs like Bolt, Frontend/Backend, MongoDB Wire Protocol)
• Docker
• Distributed system design
