About The Role

Join our team as a Corporate Counsel, where you will serve as a cross-functional legal partner, primarily advising on servicing, collections, and litigation matters. This high-ownership role is ideal for a structured, detail-oriented attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, monitoring escalations, managing contentious matters, advising on third-party agreements, drafting consumer-facing communications, and implementing AI features to automate workflows.

  • Advising cross-functionally on servicing, collections, and litigation matters to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Monitoring escalations to identify patterns and risks, investigating and remediating systemic gaps, and managing arbitration agreements.
  • Optimizing triage, investigation, and resolution strategy across all types of escalations, managing all contentious matters, and streamlining processes.
  • Strong business judgment; ability to identify and escalate material legal risks and propose practical solutions to business partners
  • Can-do attitude and a willingness to jump in where needed; no job is too big or too small and some may not exactly fit in the four corners of this job description
  • Experience with AI and building automated workflows
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership (New York or California preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience advising on servicing, collections, and litigation matters in consumer finance
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage a high-volume, multi-workstream portfolio
  • 8+ years of legal experience, with meaningful time at a top-tier law firm followed by in-house experience at a high-growth technology or fintech company
