Backend Scala Engineer (Assistant Vice President)

• Designing and implementing systems that power the iCapital platform, with a focus on building cloud-native services using Scala.
• Collaborating with the Product Management team throughout the software development process, detailing requirements, reviewing work in progress, and addressing issues.
• Participating in stand-up meetings, peer code reviews, and actively contributing to the software development lifecycle and change management process.
• We are looking for engineers who can build APIs and applications that are highly performant and intuitive. More than checking the boxes on specific technologies, we are looking for driven team members with technical depth and a desire to deliver end products for our clients
• Demonstrated understanding of relational or NoSQL database concepts and modeling practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for actively learning new technologies
• Degree in Software Engineering
• Collaborative approach to software development
• Solid problem-solving abilities
• Experience in Scala, Node.js or Java a plus
• 5+ years of web-based application development
• Ability to work independently or as part of a group effort, as required
