About The Role
The Title IX Coordinator (PT) serves as the institution's designated Title IX Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2012; Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act 1973; and related federal and state laws. The Title IX Coordinator (PT) provides leadership in the institution's efforts to prevent and respond to allegations of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, pregnancy-related discrimination, and retaliation involving students, employees, applicants, and third parties. The position coordinates institutional compliance, oversees grievance procedures, manages investigations or investigative processes, develops policies, provides training, maintains required records, and serves as the primary resource regarding Title IX obligations. The Title IX Coordinator works collaboratively with Human Resources, Student Affairs, Public Safety, Athletics, Academic Affairs, and legal counsel while exercising independent judgment in administering the institution's Title IX program. Key Responsibilities: Title IX Program Administration Serve as the institution's designated Title IX Coordinator. Oversee institutional compliance with Title IX and implementing regulations. Coordinate the institution's Title IX program across all campus locations and programs. Monitor changes to federal and state regulations and recommend policy revisions. Ensure institutional policies remain compliant with applicable legal requirements. Complaint Intake and Case Management Receive reports involving sex discrimination and sexual harassment. Conduct initial assessments of reported concerns. Explain institutional grievance procedures and available options. Coordinate supportive measures for complainants and respondents. Monitor implementation of supportive measures. Maintain confidential case records and documentation. Provide consultation to supervisors and administrators regarding Title IX obligations. Reporting and Recordkeeping ● Maintain records consistent with Title IX regulations. ● Prepare annual compliance reports. ● Analyze complaint trends and recommend prevention initiatives. ● Assist with OCR inquiries and compliance reviews. ● Maintain training records and required documentation. Investigations and Resolution Conduct or oversee prompt, equitable, and impartial investigations. Coordinate investigators, decision-makers, and appeal officers when applicable. Prepare investigative reports and findings. Monitor timelines for compliance with institutional procedures. Ensure fair and consistent implementation of grievance processes. Prevention, Education, and Training Develop and coordinate annual training programs for: Faculty Staff Supervisors Students Responsible Employees Hearing Panel Members Investigators Develop educational programming (in collaboration with Student Affairs) promoting: Prevention of sexual misconduct Bystander intervention Reporting options Consent education Healthy relationships Policy and Compliance Review institutional policies annually. Recommend revisions based upon legal developments and best practices. Coordinate publication of required Title IX notices. Ensure required postings and notifications remain current. Maintain institutional compliance documentation.] Campus Collaboration Collaborate with: Human Resources Student Affairs Academic Affairs Athletics Public Safety Counseling Services Residence Life General Counsel External agencies Experience and Qualifications ● Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in areas of Title IX, Title II, Title IV, Title, VI, Title VII, civil rights, compliance, higher education administration. ● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, or related field ● Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
