Painter

Responsible for applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces such as walls, ceilings, buildings, and structures to improve appearance and protect them from damage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling cracks or holes.
• Mix and match paints to achieve the desired color and texture.
• Apply paint, varnish, enamel, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and plastic covers.
• Follow safety procedures when working with ladders, scaffolding, and chemicals.
• Inspect completed work and touch up or correct imperfections.
• Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
• Ability to mix colors accurately.
• Good hand–eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina for standing, climbing, and lifting.
• Understanding of safety practices and protective equipment.
