(Senior) Director, Discovery Biology (Immunology)

Role Overview This is a unique leadership opportunity to join our Discovery Biology team and help shape the future of Immunity and Immunology (I&I) drug discovery. In this role, you will lead cutting-edge research across target validation and preclinical development while building a diverse and innovative pipeline spanning small and large molecules, induced proximity approaches, PROTACs, novel immuno-oncology modalities, ADCs, mRNA/siRNA therapies, and other emerging platforms. Working closely with cross-functional partners, you will play a critical role in advancing first-in-class therapeutic programs from scientific insight to clinical candidate nomination. Key Accountabilities Lead target and disease biology strategy, including new target proposal, evaluation, validation, and implementation. Serve as a scientific leader for preclinical project teams, working across a cross-functional, matrixed environment to support clinical candidate nomination and IND-enabling studies. Champion scientific excellence and innovation by embracing new and emerging technologies, including AI, to help drive scientific transformation. Oversee day-to-day team operations and provide clear, systematic guidance that supports both scientific delivery and individual development. Help shape department-level talent strategy, including recruitment, retention, succession planning, and career development. Effectively analyze data and communicate scientific insights, key findings, and recommendations to project teams, senior leadership, and governance forums, as well as at domestic and global scientific conferences. Candidate Profile PhD and/or MD in Immunology or a related life science discipline, with 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug discovery. Demonstrated record of independent scientific thinking, innovation, and creative problem-solving, supported by impactful original research. Proven experience in target identification and validation, scientific team leadership, and successful delivery of clinical candidate nominations and/or IND submissions. Demonstrated scientific excellence with an outstanding publication record in top-tier scientific journals and/or patents. A collaborative and inspiring leadership style, with the ability to mentor talent, influence across functions, and help teams thrive in a fast-moving industrial environment.
