Job Description: The position is a scientific role in the CMC drug substance function, which provides scientific research and project management support for small molecule projects. The responsibilities include below items. Design and evaluate synthesis route under supervision. Design and execute experiments to optimize manufacture process independently. Design and execute salt/polymorph screening of small molecule projects independently. Identify and resolve scale-up challenges under supervision through critical evaluation of process and analytical data in drug substance manufacturing. Support technical platform establishment by providing scientific inputs through literature search, Act as the drug substance representative under supervision, to closely work and communicate within CMC team. Manage drug substance manufacture in CMO partners under supervision, to deliver drug substance to meet clinical/commercial demand. Communicate effectively across organizational interfaces. Lead the transfer of know how to other departments or external contractors. Job Requirements: PhD degree, major in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related. Good learning agility, flexible and comfortable in a fast pace working environment, to effectively and accurately present data to peers, management, and external partners. Strong passion and exploration desire in science. Demonstrated independent scientific thinking and creative problem-solving skills in trouble shooting of drug substance process development. Good communications skills to work collaboratively with peers across multiple areas. Good understanding to manage drug substance manufacturing, to be able to handle change controls and investigate deviations under supervision. Good English language skills is required, to be able to make presentation and have technical discussion in English.
