Principal Investigator

We are seeking a Principal Investigator in Comparative Medicine with a primary focus on oncology drug development at the Shanghai site. This role serves as a scientific owner of oncology-relevant disease models , providing a comparative medicine perspective closely linked to drug MOA, screening and candidate comparison, and clinical relevance . Model-related work is conducted to enhance translational relevance and reduce clinical development risk , while overseeing and guiding in vivo pharmacology studies executed by team members . The level (SPI or AD) will be determined based on experience and demonstrated leadership scope. Responsibilities Disease Model Ownership & Translational Perspective (Oncology) Own scientific understanding of oncology disease/efficacy models, including biological relevance, strengths, and limitations. Provide comparative medicine input on model relevance to drug MOA , screening strategy, and early decision-making. Oversight of In Vivo Study Execution Oversee and scientifically guide in vivo pharmacology studies conducted by team members , ensuring appropriate model selection, study intent, endpoints, data quality, and interpretation. Review study outcomes from a model‑centric perspective and communicate implications for program decisions. Collaboration & Scientific Leadership Work primarily with in vivo Pharmacology Research /Pathology sub-function partners. Represent Comparative Medicine input in broader project discussions. Mentor junior scientists and contribute to scientific rigor and best practices within the team. Contribute to department-level scientific alignment and model capability development. Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in Comparative Medicine, Immunology, Biology, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of experience in industry preclinical research , preferably oncology-focused. Strong expertise in oncology disease biology and animal models , a successful track record of contributing to the advancement of drug candidates from preclinical to clinical stages. Demonstrated ability to oversee in vivo study execution , guide others scientifically, and contribute to program‑level decision making.
