About The Role
General Description: We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Finance Associate Director responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to Guang Zhou manufacturing site. This role drives business planning, financial control, performance monitoring, investment analysis, and decision support activities to enable sustainable and competitive manufacturing performance. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, GTO Finance. The successful candidate will bring deep financial acumen, a strong understanding of pharmaceutical operations and a proven ability to partner with senior leadership in a complex global environment. Excellence in this role requires strong prioritization skills within a dynamic environment, outstanding communication abilities, and a proactive, solutions-driven approach. This role is based in Guang Zhou manufacturing site. Essential Functions of the Job: Strategic Business Partnering Serve as the primary finance contact for site management, providing real-time financial insights to support operational decisions Partner with site management to prepare site-level financial budget and forecasting activities Analyze plant performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and highlighting risk with mitigation proposal for management decision Support site specific investment decisions with financial evaluation and post-implementation reviews Local Financial Close & Analysis Perform site–level actual vs budget variance analysis and provide commentary on operational drivers Provide and validate plant accruals, provisions and adjustment proposal Oversee and manage inventory and CAPEX management, incl. physical counts, monitor actual status and provide provision proposal to ensure accuracy and timely adjustment Ensure timely and accurate submission of plant data for consolidation and reporting Tax & Government Affairs Compliance Partner with tax team in compliance with regional and national regulations Liaise with government agencies on finance–related matters, support audits / inspection conducted by government authorities Other Support Actively participate in various financial initiatives, leveraging financial expertise to optimize processes, systems and reporting capabilities. Coordinate with cross-functions to participate in financial audit on Guangzhou manufacturing site per request. Other request assigned by manager Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and develop a high-performing team Computer Skills: Excellent computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience using SAP and EPM tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc) Other Qualifications: Experience Required: 10+ years of accounting/financial experience with at least 5 plus years of relevant finance experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in supporting manufacturing organizations. Experience in cost accounting is required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA preferred Strong financial control, reporting and analytical skills with demonstrated business impact in previous roles Significant experience in inventory and product cost accounting within pharmaceutical industry preferred. Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, influencing decision-making across diverse teams and organizational levels. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
