(Associate) Manager, Discovery Data Operations

General Description: The Discovery Sample Management group within Chemistry in Beijing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Manager / Manager to join the Discovery Sample MGT team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving Chemistry digital transformation, building robust and sustainable data foundations, and ensuring high‑quality bio‑registry and assay data operations to support informed Chemistry decision‑making across discovery programs. Essential Functions of the job: Provide solution/insights on technical issues for digital transformation of chemistry. Interface with chemist to gather and document functional and technical requirements. Responsible for cleaning and registering large molecules (ADC, Antibody etc.) entity information. Act as a data steward and subject matter expert, partnering with biology, chemistry, DMPK and IT teams to ensure assay data is fit‑for‑purpose across Research programs. Establish, maintain, and continuously improve data standards, operating procedures, and quality controls to ensure the timely registration, completeness, and integrity of entity records. Own and optimize the end‑to‑end assay request and data generation workflow, ensuring full traceability and transparency across assay requests, sample preparation and usage, data reporting, and downstream consumption. Define, enhance, and improve our Outcome-as-a-Service solution, within the operations optimization category, to deliver additional performance, flexibility, capability, and availability to our chemist. Track project activities and tasks execution, actively engage customers and frequently update project status, manage chemist’s expectation. Qualifications: Minimum (5) years of experience operating in a business analyst role with a proven record of business analysis including development of requirements and mapping \ re-engineering of business process. Experience working in chemistry labs or other functions in a pharmaceutical or CRO company. Familiar with pharmaceutical Research related software systems (e.g., Dotmatics, Mosaic, and other ELN or LIMS systems). Must be independently motivated willing to accomplish all tasks assigned, large and small. Must have a positive attitude and possess poise under pressure. Good understanding of the laboratory process. Be able to effectively prioritize and plans work activities. A team player: balance team and individual responsibilities and contributes to a positive team spirit. Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, to manage competing demands and to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and look for ways to improve and promote quality. Be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, and to gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
