About The Role
Drug Product (DP) function is responsible for designing and developing formulations and manufacturing process that enable delivery of BeOne's candidate molecules for clinical studies and product commercialization. We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and reputed scientist to join our formulation group. Group Leader is a role, not a job title. For this position, we could offer Principal Investigator, Senior Principal Investigator, Associate Director, even Director. The role provides opportunity to lead overall strategy for product development and rational formulation/process design in a matrixed environment. Address scientific challenges in alignment with business goals. Identifies and rapidly executes critical experiments and activities to enable advancement of the project with strategies for further advancement within a multi-disciplinary team. Represents project team to senior leaders, clearly communicating project understandings, status, risks, opportunities, and resource requirements. Drives and communicates strategy, identifies and justifies resources. Solves project issues and implements novel scientific/technological solutions. Job Description: Oversee formulation and process design/development for small molecule development candidates. Effectively address critical challenges during the drug product development process through an in-depth scientific and engineering evaluation of the issue. Being CMC Project Lead with strong knowledge and extensive experience in DP, closely work with CMC team and product development team, provide oversight to the design and execution of experiments to drive the progress of CMC development programs. With broad knowledge in other CMC sub-functions and development process, lead the overall CMC project in a multi-functional CMC team setting. Lead and/or oversee the development of technologies and scientific innovations that improve capability in DP function to deliver small molecule pipeline. Advance scientific expertise within function. Mentor junior scientists and peers. Proactively advise senior management on scientific knowledge and expert opinions. Lead and/or oversee the collaboration with other functions to align a broad range of strategies that support drug discovery and development programs. Publish and/or present in domestic and international conferences, build scientific connections and reputations in pharmaceutical science community. Qualifications: PhD degree in pharmaceutics, chemistry, engineering, material sciences or related fields. 6+ years (5+ years of industrial) working experience on pharmaceutics, solid-state, formulation, analytical or other related fields of drug development. Deep and comprehensive understanding of biopharmaceutical, physicochemical, and material properties as related to formulation and process development. Solid knowledge on oral absorption of drugs, including physiological characteristics, transport mechanisms, and interactions among physiological and physicochemical factors. Track record of rational formulation and process development. Excellent learning agility, strong passion for science, and critical thinking. Proactive to lead cross function communications and collaborations Good communication skills and demonstrated ability of excellent scientific sense and data interpretation. Good English writing, reading and speaking.
