Core Responsibilities:1. Strategic Leadership & Project Advancement:o Lead the medicinal chemistry team in formulating and executing comprehensive R&D strategies from hit identification through to PCC selection and IND submission.o Serve as the core project leader or key member, spearheading cross-functional collaboration (with Biology, DMPK, Toxicology, Process Chemistry, etc.) to efficiently advance pipeline projects and achieve key milestones.o Make critical decisions regarding project chemistry direction, resource allocation, and risk management.2. Innovative Molecular Design & Management:o Lead the design and optimization strategies for novel molecular structures with proprietary intellectual property, based on structural biology, computational chemistry, and structure-activity relationship (SAR) data.o Apply deep understanding of medicinal chemistry principles to achieve optimal balance between physicochemical properties (e.g., molecular weight, lipophilicity, polarity) and ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, Toxicity) profiles.o Introduce and apply cutting-edge technologies (e.g., AI-assisted drug design, novel covalent inhibitors, PROTACs, etc.) to enhance discovery efficiency and success rates.3. Team Building & Technical Guidance:o Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing medicinal chemistry team, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific rigor.o Provide professional technical guidance to team members, review experimental plans and data to ensure the quality and scientific integrity of research work.4. Internal & External Communication & Intellectual Property:o Clearly communicate project progress, challenges, and strategies to management and colleagues.o Collaborate effectively with external partners (e.g., CROs) and manage external R&D resources.o Lead or closely participate in intellectual property protection activities, including patent applications and scientific publications.Qualifications:1. Education & Experience:o Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry.o Minimum 3 years of experience in small-molecule innovative drug R&D within the pharmaceutical industry (Biotech or large pharma).2. Professional Skills:o Exceptional Medicinal Chemistry Expertise: Profound and intuitive understanding of molecular design, SAR, physicochemical properties, and drug-likeness, with the ability to creatively solve complex chemical optimization challenges.o Strong Practical & Analytical Skills: Proficient in modern organic synthesis, compound purification, and structure elucidation techniques; capable of analyzing and guiding the synthesis of complex compounds.o Cross-disciplinary Knowledge: Familiar with fundamental concepts across the drug discovery cascade (Pharmacology, DMPK, Toxicology) and able to integrate them effectively.o Excellent Communication & Leadership: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English. Ability to motivate teams and collaborate effectively with experts from diverse backgrounds.3.
