Service Line Overview KPMG’s Trusted Consulting services group is built on addressing clients’ urgent strategic and operational challenges in today’s environment. The practice focuses on key risk areas relating to accounting and reporting, finance and treasury, and regulatory compliance and controls. KPMG’s Consulting Services has grown substantially since its establishment. Our Governance, Risk & Compliance Services (GRCS) practice provides leading edge services on risk, regulation, governance and compliance to our clients to allow them to better focus on serving their customers, stakeholders and communities. As a Director, you will lead a team of professionals in delivering high-impact advisory solutions to our clients. You will be responsible for driving business development, overseeing complex project delivery, and serving as a senior advisor to client boards and audit committees on governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks. Key Responsibilities • Board Advisory & Governance: Lead corporate governance reviews and board effectiveness assessments to assist clients in establishing robust governance structures • Risk & Control Advisory: Oversee the assessment of enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks, internal control reviews, and internal audit function effectiveness • Regulatory Compliance: Manage specialized regulatory projects, including reviews for IPO candidates and ongoing compliance advisory for listed entities • Operating Model & Licensing Optimization: Guide corporate clients on target operating models focused on cost reduction and risk mitigation, while supporting them in navigating operational licensing requirements to execute their strategies • Policy-Driven Transformation: Lead large-scale business transformation planning that aligns client operating models with evolving regulatory policies and strategic goals • Market Leadership & Pursuit: Originate advisory opportunities, build lasting internal and external executive relationships, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international regulatory developments • Team & Performance Management: Supervise, mentor, and provide structured performance management for a multidisciplinary team of professionals to ensure high-quality project delivery Experience & Background • Minimum of 10–12 years of corporate governance, strategic risk, or internal audit experience, with a mandatory track record of leadership within a Big 4 or consulting firm • Deep knowledge of the mainland China and Hong Kong corporate landscapes, including hands-on experience linking enterprise risk management directly to business transformation and strategic uncertainty • Creative thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills with high commitment to quality client service • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; professional credentials (e.g., CPA, CIA or equivalent) • Full bilingual fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) are required About KPMG At KPMG China, we are committed to being an equal opportunity employer, with zero tolerance for any form of discrimination against any persons.
