Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Tax Manager / Tax Manager to join our dynamic Shanghai Tax team. This is a hybrid role at the intersection of engagement coordination, data transformation, business development support, reporting to the Tax Transformation Service Line Leader. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless execution of managed service engagements while actively enabling pursuit activities — from proposal development to client readiness and win strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate end-to-end delivery of Tax Managed Services engagements (e.g., compliance outsourcing, tax technology support, data reporting), ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction. Serve as the central point of contact for cross-workstream data coordination , including requirements gathering, data mapping, validation, and integration between finance operation, tax reporting and technology teams. Provide structured support to market pursuit activities : contribute to proposals, capability statements, solution design, pricing inputs, and client-facing presentations. Apply PMO discipline to manage timelines, dependencies, resource allocation, risk logs, and status reporting across concurrent projects and pursuits. Engage proactively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Technology, Data Analytics, Risk & Quality, Global Delivery Centers) and external clients — demonstrating maturity, credibility, and commercial acumen. Identify process improvement and automation opportunities within managed service workflows, leveraging data insights and scalable delivery models. Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building. Essential Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5–7 years of progressive tax advisory or managed services experience, preferably within a Big 4 firm or a top-tier multinational corporation’s tax function. Recognized qualification is a must, such as CPA, CTA, ACCA, etc. Proven track record in managing client-facing tax service delivery, especially in areas such as corporate tax compliance, indirect tax reporting or tax technology implementation. Exceptional written and spoken English — able to draft proposals, lead bilingual stakeholder meetings, and represent the firm confidently with international clients and global teams. Demonstrated ability to balance operational rigor with business development mindset — resilient under pressure, proactive in identifying opportunities, and skilled in translating technical work into commercial value.
