About The Role

Position Summary As Senior Director, the Chinese Mainland Technology Lead owns technology strategy and execution for the Power of M transformation program across Chinese Mainland. This role provides executive-level leadership for property readiness and deployment, ensures alignment with Marriott International global standards and governance, and directs delivery across PMS certification (Shiji Daylight), enterprise and local integrations (including ACRS and other Marriott systems), and payment solutions (in partnership with Payments and FreedomPay). The Senior Director builds and leads the local delivery organization, drives vendor performance and risk management, and serves as Command Centre Lead during cutover periods to ensure safe go-lives and rapid stabilization. Scope & Decision Rights This Senior Director role is accountable for Chinese Mainland technology delivery outcomes for Power of M, including prioritization, risk acceptance/escalation, and readiness approvals in line with Marriott governance. The role directs local vendor execution and internal resources, coordinates cross-functional decisions with global stakeholders, and is responsible for ensuring each property achieves a controlled, supportable, and compliant go-live. Key Responsibilities Program & Technology Leadership Provide strategic direction, executive leadership, and overall management for the Power of M program within Chinese Mainland, accountable for delivery outcomes across the portfolio of properties. Act as the senior Chinese Mainland technology executive and escalation point, with authority to make decisions, remove blockers, and ensure delivery aligns to timeline, quality, regulatory, and security requirements. Establish and lead governance (steering cadence, reporting, and controls) to manage progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and vendor performance; provide clear executive communications and recommendations to regional and global leadership. PMS Certification & Vendor Partnership Partner with Marriott International Global Technology leadership to drive certification of the new PMS (Shiji Daylight) for Chinese Mainland, ensuring readiness for enterprise standards, controls, and deployment timelines. Lead the strategic partnership with Shiji, governing delivery plans, milestones, and quality to ensure integrations meet local operational requirements and applicable regulatory obligations. Own go/no-go readiness criteria and sign-offs for property deployments, including prerequisite validation, environment readiness, configuration assurance, interface dependencies, and end-to-end testing outcomes. Integration Management (Marriott & Local Interfaces) Sponsor and govern delivery of Marriott-standard interfaces with global teams (including ACRS and other enterprise systems), ensuring alignment to architecture standards, security controls, and support models. Oversee integration strategy, testing governance, and cutover execution across PMS, distribution, loyalty, finance, and operations—driving cross-workstream coordination and accountability for end-to-end outcomes. Direct local interface requirements and standardization to enable scalable deployment across properties; ensure successful business continuity and operational acceptance at each hotel. Payments & Payment Solution Delivery Executive-sponsor payment solution delivery with the Payments team and FreedomPay, governing design decisions, rollout planning, test execution, and deployment readiness. Ensure payment integrations meet Marriott standards and local regulatory requirements, with appropriate risk controls, data protection measures, and audit-ready documentation. Drive issue resolution and readiness sign-off for payment systems, governing SLAs, escalations, and vendor performance to achieve stable go-lives. Deployment Planning, Playbooks & Scheduling Own and approve Chinese Mainland deployment playbooks, readiness checklists, and execution runbooks, ensuring alignment to global methodology and local operational requirements. Lead portfolio deployment scheduling and sequencing, balancing property readiness, vendor capacity, change impacts, and dependencies in collaboration with program leadership and global teams. Drive consistent deployment standards, quality assurance, and continuous improvement through lessons learned, post-implementation reviews, and operational KPI tracking. Command Centre Leadership (Go-Live / Cutover) Serve as Command Centre Lead during deployments, providing executive incident leadership, managing triage and prioritization, and directing cross-functional resolution across Marriott teams, vendors, and properties. Ensure rapid stabilization post go-live, including defect governance, executive status reporting, remediation coordination, and controlled handover to steady-state support and operations. People Leadership & Team Build Build, lead, and inspire the Chinese Mainland delivery organization, including hiring strategy, capability development, and performance leadership to meet program objectives. Define the operating model, clear accountabilities, and ways of working across internal teams, vendors, and property stakeholders to enable predictable, repeatable delivery at scale. Create a high-performance culture focused on outcomes, accountability, and strong business partnership; coach leaders and cultivate succession for critical roles. Key Stakeholders Marriott International Global Technology Teams Shiji (PMS vendor) delivery and integration teams Payments team and FreedomPay Property IT and Operations leadership teams Program Management Office / Power of M leadership Qualifications & Experience (Suggested) 10+ years of progressive leadership in hospitality technology or enterprise IT delivery, including senior accountability for complex, multi-site programs. Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-property deployments (PMS and/or major platform transformations), with end-to-end accountability from readiness through stabilization. Deep expertise in enterprise integrations, interface governance, testing disciplines, and cutover planning across complex stakeholder ecosystems. Strong experience delivering payment platforms and integrations, including vendor management, PCI/data protection considerations, and operating controls (preferred). Exceptional executive stakeholder management with ability to influence and align global, regional, and property leadership, strong communication and decision facilitation in high-pressure environments. Fluent Mandarin required; strong English proficiency required to operate in executive forums and partner effectively with global teams.
