About The Role

Job Description As a Senior Associate / Manager within PwC’s Financial Services Advisory practice, you will focus on delivering advisory services related to Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) in the banking sector. You’ll work with leading financial institutions in navigating regulatory requirements under the HKMA resolution regime and help them develop robust recovery and resolution strategies. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing clients’ regulatory compliance, improving capital and liquidity management, strengthening risk governance, and preparing comprehensive plans to meet both local and global standards. Collaboration across diverse teams and providing actionable insights will be a key part of your role, along with applying PwC’s methodologies and tools to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities Delivery of RRP Projects: Facilitate the preparation, development, and submission of Recovery Plans and Resolution Strategies to HKMA, ensuring compliance with the guidelines. Collaborate with clients' teams to assess and strengthen resolution capabilities and governance frameworks. Lead or support the coordination of Board-level simulation exercises, incorporating stress scenarios and crisis-management strategies. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: Act as a trusted advisor for clients' senior management on RRP matters, including resolving regulatory challenges, interpreting policies, and delivering tailored solutions. Liaise with key stakeholders such as treasury, liquidity risk, capital management, and compliance functions to gather inputs and ensure alignment on resolution planning objectives. Represent PwC in high-profile discussions with regulators, presenting project progress and deliverables confidently. Regulatory Advisory: Monitor updates to HKMA regulatory guidance and cross-border implications of resolution planning. Proactively advise clients on adapting their policies to meet these requirements. Support clients in understanding group-wide RRP requirements, aligning parent-level policies with local-level implementation while addressing resolvability challenges. Project Management and Consulting Expertise: Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle and ensure timely delivery of milestones and addressing unforeseen challenges effectively. Apply consulting frameworks and tools, utilizing tailored project management methodologies to enhance the client experience. Identify opportunities for improving clients’ processes, policies, and control frameworks, contributing to operational efficiency and regulatory preparedness. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Certifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, or equivalent are advantageous. Work Experience 4+ years’ experience in banking, consulting, or financial services, specialising in operational risk, liquidity risk, capital management, or regulatory compliance. Direct experience in Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) under HKMA or other regulatory frameworks is highly desirable. Proven consulting experience in leading or supporting multi-stakeholder projects within the financial services industry. Core Skillsets In-depth understanding of HKMA requirements for RRP, including FIRO Codes of Practice and SPM regulations. Strong knowledge of capital and liquidity management, governance, crisis-management frameworks, and resolution funding strategies. Demonstrated skill in delivering regulatory advisory services and preparing high-quality technical reports or deliverables. Hands-on experience conducting stress testing and analyzing financial models. Excellent platform, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence C-suite executives and complex stakeholder groups. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously under tight deadlines. Collaborative mindset for working across diverse, cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
