As part of our dynamic team, you will provide expert advice on local and international tax matters across a range of industries, acting as a trusted advisor for integrated business and tax solutions. PwC’s Tax Controversy and Dispute Resolution (TCDR) team supports clients in navigating and resolving complex tax disputes. Our team includes former IRD officers and industry specialists who work closely with PwC’s global network to resolve both local and cross-border tax controversies. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Associate, you will play an important role in helping clients prevent, manage, and resolve tax disputes. You will apply your technical expertise and advisory skills to support clients in substantiating their tax filing positions, responding to audits, and mitigating potential tax exposures. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced tax professionals and former tax authorities, while gaining exposure to high-profile and complex tax dispute cases. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to: Contribute to business tax compliance and tax advisory engagements Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation to support clients’ tax positions during IRD audits and investigations Identify and mitigate potential tax controversy risks by aligning with commercial substance and applicable regulations Support clients in applying for tax exemption claims, treaty benefits, advance rulings and other dispute prevention measures Collaborate with internal specialists and liaise with clients and IRD to facilitate dispute resolution Monitor tax regulatory developments and contribute to managing multiple client engagements to deliver timely, high-quality services Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field Professional certification from a recognized accounting body (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is advantageous 2-5 years of relevant tax experience Experience working on tax audits, investigations, or controversy cases is an advantage Demonstrated project management skills and a strong business acumen Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.
