About the team Our team helps insurance clients to transform their finance, actuarial and risk functions to meet emerging regulatory requirements and improve overall effectiveness and efficiency. The Team utilises proven methodologies and frameworks to design and enhance target operating models, end-to-end financial reporting processes and systems to support management decision-making, regulatory compliance and corporate strategy. The Team combines resources with experiences in the insurance industry and technical expertise and can be rapidly deployed to address business problems. Services we provide to our Insurance clients include: • Financial transformation and digitalisation implementation; • Operating model & operational efficiency transformation; • Risk and regulatory advisory; and • Regulatory and statutory reporting advisory As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems • Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the insurance industry • Work closely with clients to transform and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their finance and risk functions including: o Finance process re-design and automation implementation; o Regulatory reporting and compliance advisory; o Support clients’ change initiatives; and o Assess current operating models and service-delivery options, including partnerships, shared services and strategic sourcing, to develop target-state recommendations • Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance • Share relevant thought leadership • Influence stakeholders through establishing a quality and trusted relationship, and open communication • Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities and coach to help deliver results • Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths and address development areas • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct Preferred skills • Bachelor's degree in insurance, accounting, finance, actuarial science, business, or related disciplines preferred • Progress towards CPA or actuarial qualifications and insurance-related qualifications preferred • Minimum of 4 years of experience in insurance, including life, general or health insurers or reinsurers, or in professional firms providing relevant client services, with a focus on the following areas o Finance transformation and automation implementation o Risk and regulatory advisory o Closing and multi-GAAP reporting of insurance companies o Product control and financial reporting operations • Knowledge of insurance finance and regulatory standards (IFRS 17, HKRBC and HKIO) preferred but not a must; training will be provided • Experience in end-to-end implementation projects that involve process and system changes preferred • Experience supporting operating model assessments, service-delivery analysis or shared services transformation preferred • Hands-on experience with finance management software (e.g. Oracle, SAP, ANAPLAN, Hyperion, Blackline, Workday), automation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Power BI) and/or actuarial modelling software (e.g. Prophet, AXIX, MOSES) preferred but not a must • Detail-oriented with strong organising skills, and strong sense of ownership • Strong analytical skills with the ability to articulate the issues and solutions effectively through written and verbal communication • Proficiency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus • Good team player with an entrepreneurial mindset • Candidates with more experience will be considered for Manager grade
