Position Overview
The Vendor Staff member is the dedicated liaison and support system for the creators, artists, and dealers who make up the heart of ASC’s marketplace. Operating directly inside the Dealer Den / Vendor Hall, this role focuses on ensuring that our vendors have a smooth, secure, and successful weekend. You are there to be a reliable helping hand, a watchful eye for any issues, and a friendly face for the vendor community. If you enjoy a dynamic role that keeps you on your feet and lets you work directly with passionate creators, this position is for you.

As convention approaches
Attend online staff meetings and trainings when requested
Convention weekend
On-site presence is required with flexible hours. Must plan to work the minimum volunteer hour requirement posted on the website
Pre and post-convention
On-site presence may be required to assist with setup and teardown activities the day before and the day after the event
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will focus on vendor care, space monitoring, and operational support
Vendor Assistance & Support
Actively check in on vendors throughout the day to see if they need help, answer questions, or coordinate with convention leadership on their behalf
Booth Coverage (Bathroom Breaks)
Provide short-term booth coverage for solo vendors, allowing them to step away for bathroom breaks or food without leaving their merchandise unattended
Dealer Den Patrol
Walk the floor regularly to monitor the hall for hazards, content policy violations, or overcrowding, ensuring a positive environment for both sellers and attendees
Incident Reporting
Identify any operational or security issues within the hall and immediately report them to Vendor Department leadership or the Safety Team.
Load-In & Load-Out Assistance
Help guide vendors to their designated spaces during setup and teardown, answering logistical questions about the space.
Qualifications
Required
Vendor Collaboration
A strong willingness and ability to work closely with diverse vendors, maintaining a polite, helpful, and professional demeanor at all times
Physical Stamina
The ability to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time while patrolling the Dealer Den
Reliability & Trustworthiness
High integrity, as you will be trusted to watch over valuable merchandise during temporary booth breaks
Situational Awareness
A sharp eye for detail to spot potential crowd bottlenecks, hazards, or other risks in a busy room
Preferred
Convention & Attendee Familiarity
Prior experience dealing with convention attendees and an understanding of Dealer Den culture, dynamics, and etiquette
Conflict Resolution
The ability to handle stressful situations calmly, whether dealing with an upset attendee or an anxious vendor
