Your future role at a glance Location: Waco, TX Facility: Ascension Providence Department/Speciality: CVOR Schedule: Day Shift l Full time | Monday-Friday 7am-3pm on call requirements How you'll make an impact in this role Prepare specialized cardiovascular operating rooms for complex procedures by ensuring precise assembly of sterile fields, specialized instrumentation, and equipment. Maintain seamless surgical flow during high-acuity open-heart and vascular cases by anticipating surgeon needs and delivering specialized instruments with expert timing. Enhance patient safety and surgical access through expert assistance with transport, dynamic positioning, and sterile draping tailored to cardiovascular access sites. Prevent retained surgical items by rigorously organizing, managing, and tracking all instruments, sponge, and needle counts to achieve 100% accuracy across every phase of surgery. Directly support patient stability during critical interventions by assisting the surgical team with rapid hemostasis, vessel retraction, and field management. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. One or more of the following required: Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
