About The Role
Role : Manufacturing Owner Location : Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra / Bangalore (HO) Reporting to: Manufacturing P & L Owner/ Senior Manufacturing Owner Team Name: Manufacturing Ownership About the Team and the Role: The Manufacturing P&L team is the strategic engine behind Ather’s cross-functional execution model. As a Manufacturing Owner (MO), you act as the "CEO of the cross-functional team." You are responsible for bridging high-level organizational "True North" goals with ground-level execution. This is a matrix leadership role where you own the P&L, resource allocation, and technical integrity of a specific P&L, ensuring that value is delivered at high velocity using Lean agile principles. Responsibilities: Strategic Objectives & Key Results (OKR) Breakdown: Translate organizational OKRs into program and Cross Functional Team’s objectives and measurable Key Results (KRs); break these down into projects and action items for the cross-functional team. P&L & Capital Ownership: Propose, decide, and allocate capital for the P&L based on value maximization; manage the fiscal year budget and revise quarterly based on priority shifts in an agile way. Lean Execution Governance: Sign off on Projects, Action items, and the "Definition of Done" (DoD). Own the prioritization engine to ensure high-value Lean initiatives are sequenced correctly. Matrix Leadership: Create robust Cross Functional teams and take accountability of the work delivered by this highly integrated unit as prioritized to meet the Org and P & L’s priorities, ensuring a high-functioning P&L structure in collaboration with Department/Functional Managers. Resolve any Prioritization conflicts and take measured risks to break any impasse. Decision Making & Trade-offs: Act as the final authority on strategic trade-offs (e.g., Scope vs. Timeline) to break execution impasses and maintain flow velocity in a cross functional set up. Performance Monitoring: Monitor dashboards of P&L KPIs, resource allocation, and progress towards OKRs vs cost during P&L reviews. Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in dependency mapping and project phase goals, ensuring technical integrity is maintained throughout the product lifecycle. Execute and iterate the long term and short term Manufacturing roadmap keeping the ever evolving manufacturing and product landscape in mind Experience and Qualifications: Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Industrial, Production, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering. Advanced Degree: MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management is highly preferred. Professional Experience: 8 to 15 years of experience in Production, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Lean Management. Domain Expertise: Proven experience in managing manufacturing P&Ls, high-volume assembly lines, or complex process engineering projects. Past Experience: Have worked in a manufacturing function such as Production, quality, maintenance, industrial engineering, etc or Manufacturing/Production Engineering Must Have Competencies: Lean & Assembly Mastery: Expert knowledge of Assembly Operations and Lean manufacturing principles. Value Chain Optimization: Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and identifying systemic value chain bottlenecks. Digital Command: Strong command over digital manufacturing tools including SAP, Jira, and G Suite. Strategic & Systems Thinking: Ability to think in scenarios and ensure module optimization never happens at the expense of the overall vehicle. Agile Mindset with basic basic understanding of Agile working principles Cross Functional decision making Good understanding of Basic Project ROI based decision making Good to Have Competencies: Advanced Lean Systems: Implementation of Flow Oriented Layout, Lean Line Design, and Single Piece Flow systems. Operational Stability: Management of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Levelled Production (Heijunka). Material Control: Application of Consumption Control and Kanban-based production systems. Industry 4.0: Implementation of I4.0 standards and advanced digital manufacturing competencies (IIoT, data analytics). Logistics Exposure: Strategic and operational understanding of warehouse management and logistics from a P&L perspective. Governance & Compliance: Hands-on technical expertise in Integrated Management Systems (ISO 14001, 45001, 9001). Want to know more?
