Role: NVH Simulation Engineer Location :IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru Reporting to: Team Lead - NVH - Simulation CoC Team Name: NVH Simulation Team in Simulation CoC About the Team and the Role The NVH Simulation Team in Simulation CoC team at Ather is responsible for developing NVH simulation models at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels, performing structural/acoustic analyses, and systematically correlating models to build robust, high-fidelity virtual simulations. This role is for a NVH Simulation Engineer who will perform advanced NVH simulations, establish virtual DVPs, correlate digital models with physical tests, and optimize vehicle systems to achieve top-tier NVH performance. Responsibilities Develop NVH simulation models at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels to perform modal, harmonic response, and random vibration analyses. Correlate virtual FEA models with physical test data to validate and improve model accuracy. Perform vibro-acoustic and aero-acoustic simulations for noise source characterization of motors, cooling fans, and transmission subsystems. Design and evaluate effective vibration isolators, tuned mass dampers, and other structural mitigation solutions. Define virtual DVPs and target criteria for various NVH simulations, including dynamic stiffness and modal alignment. Execute topology, topography, size, and shape optimizations alongside DOEs to systematically improve design NVH characteristics. Experience and Qualifications <B.Tech/M.Tech/MS> in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in NVH simulations Must Have Competencies Strong theoretical foundation in structural vibration and acoustics fundamentals. Hands-on simulation execution using industry-standard tools such as Altair Hyperworks, NVH Director, MSC Actran, ESI VA One, or LMS Virtual Lab (Siemens SimLab). Automotive or Aerospace domain expertise specifically focused on NVH engineering and product development aspects. Proficiency in establishing Test-FEA correlation methodologies to align analytical data with physical test results. Good to Have Competencies Familiarity with physical NVH testing techniques, including experimental modal testing and Operating Deflection Shapes (ODS) analysis. Understanding of rotor dynamics and condition monitoring principles for bearings, gears, and dampers. Application of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies within structural simulation and design optimization loops. Want to know more?
