Data Architect

Role: Data Architect Location: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru Reporting to: Head of Data Office Team name: Data Office About the Team and the Role The Data Office team at Ather is responsible for evolving an analytics, ML, and AI ready data lake to support key initiatives and explosive growth, designing and enforcing best practices for data governance, quality, and metadata management, and optimally processing data from multiple enterprise and telemetry sources. This role is for a visionary engineer designing the blueprint for Ather's entire data ecosystem. The Data Architect will design complex data processing pipelines, stay up to date on new technologies, and work closely with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, product managers, and business leaders to accelerate progress and empower intelligent, data-driven decisions that shape the future of electric mobility. Responsibilities Evolve an analytics, ML, and AI ready data lake to support key initiatives and explosive growth. Design and enforce best practices for data governance, data quality, and metadata management. Design complex data processing pipelines to optimally process data from multiple data sources. Stay up to date on new technologies and strategically keep Ather’s data stack up to date. Understand business needs and work closely with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, product managers, and business leaders to accelerate progress through data. Experience and Qualifications 10-15 years of proven experience in data engineering, data modeling, and data architecture roles. Must Have Competencies Extensive experience designing and implementing large-scale data platforms, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Data Marts. Deep practical expertise with the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and Apache Spark, including designing and debugging complex jobs. Advanced SQL skills paired with a strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases. Proficiency in Pyspark for executing complex data engineering tasks. Significant experience building and managing data solutions on major cloud platforms, preferably GCP. Good to Have Competencies Proven experience with high-performance columnar databases like ClickHouse. Expertise with leveraging and integrating data from various enterprise tools such as SAP, Salesforce, and Jira. Familiarity with processing and architectural design for telemetry data.
