About The Role
Role: Engineer - Module Quality (UR3361) Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka , India (HO_IBC) Reporting Structure: Reporting to Function Lead and Head Team name: Quality Department, Module Quality Function About the Team and the Role: The Module Quality team at Ather is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards during both new product development and sustenance phases through rigorous testing and adherence to quality systems. This role is for an Engineer - Module Quality who will act as the face of the quality function within the development swimlane, adjudicating issues affecting quality and driving structured resolution of bugs and risks to improve process robustness. Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to the Gate review process and call out all quality risks regarding vehicle-level attributes and component-level specifications. Sign off on Design Verification Plans (DVP) for build stages and verify test results in collaboration with Engineering and the PV Lab. Oversee part quality for components during development phases and participate in vehicle builds to ensure standards are met. Conduct bug governance and drive structured resolution for development risks and bugs using systematic Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Manage adherence to quality systems including FMEAs, PPAP & PSW, Drawing release processes, and Homologation testing. Monitor and prioritize Quality KPIs such as IPH, CPV, and PPM for resolution within individual swimlanes using 8D methodology. Create and ensure adherence to A-COP plans while providing impact analysis for Change Requests (CRs) and deviations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Design, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Engineering to meet swimlane objectives. Experience and Qualifications: BE / ME / B-Tech / M-Tech in electrical / mechanical engineering or equivalent from institutes of repute. 6 - 8 years of experience in NPD Quality domain and Quality Engineering in 2W / 4W OEMs. Must Have Competencies: Application of Quality Management principles and 8D methodology for structured problem solving. Proficiency in Quality Engineering practices and the use of Core Tools of Quality. Adherence to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and Gate review protocols. Performance of systematic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and impact analysis for deviations and Change Requests. Good to Have Competencies: Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools like Teamcenter for drawing and release processes. Proficiency in using JIRA for bug governance, tracking discipline, and task management. Technical expertise in Design Verification Plan (DVP) sign-offs and Homologation testing requirements. Advanced spreadsheet and documentation skills for reporting Quality KPIs and A-COP execution plans. Want to know more? At Ather, we’ve built India’s first intelligent scooter, from scratch.
